Today marks a significant milestone for us at Sister Merci — our fifth anniversary! The inception of Sister Merci was a leap of faith. The name itself embodies the essence of our vision: "Sister" represents the trusted advisor we all seek in times of need, mirroring the role we aspire to fulfill for our clients. "Merci," French for "thank you," echoes our heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to excel in our craft within an ever-evolving market. Our journey has been underpinned by a deep sense of appreciation, guiding our interactions with clients, partners, and within our exceptional team. If we don't say it enough - thank-you so much to everyone who helped us get to this point. Five years ago, Paul K Lawton, Amanda Wood, and I walked away from secure roles at well-regarded agencies, propelled by one of those "offers you can't resist" type moments. Reflecting on the cannabis landscape back then — just before the pandemic and shortly after federal cannabis legalization — the industry was navigating uncharted waters. Amidst the uncertainty, there was a shared sense of pioneering spirit, a collective endeavor to redefine the market which we felt had room for bigger ideas. This journey has endowed us with resilience and character, enabling us to stand strong against the near-constant industry headwinds. Our operation now spans across Canada and the USA, serving both the titans and the upstarts. And even as it's been hard sometimes; even as we have had our asses kicked in ways unimaginable to me before, it hasn't been without bright spots. For one, our industry has been so great to us, and we've been recognized with three Agency of the Year awards from three amazing cannabis organizations - @KIND Media and Events (shout out to honourary sister Joshua Nagel), ADCANN and The Clio Awards. We are continually grateful. Our clients have trusted us, grown with us, and helped us thrive. THANK YOU, so so much. As we celebrate this milestone, we're more energized and passionate than ever. Our commitment to Sister Merci has crafted a unique ecosystem where creativity and innovation flourish. With several exciting projects in the pipeline, we're optimistic about the future, regardless of the uncertainties that lie ahead. We've been through worse, trust me! A heartfelt thank you to all the "Sisters," both within our agency and the broader industry. Your contributions fuel and inspire us daily. We're just getting started, here's to five more!!! Here we are, five years ago. Three naive babies. If I could go back and give this crew one piece of advice it would be very simple: keep going
