Brain injury awareness post day 15, you never know who has a brain injury , you never know because it’s invisible. This photo was taken in Las Vegas before a day at MJ Biz Con , I love events and I love the community and on the outside it may seem like I really have it all together, let me let you in on a little secret ,I don’t ! Behind the smile is the confusion , the overwhelming fatigue , the inability to remember names , faces and where people are from , the overwhelming hell of imposter syndrome and not feeling good enough at times because I can’t figure out the small things , especially from a technology perspective….. feeling inadequate at times because all I want to do is help others and be part of this community without looking like I am bragging or trying to be a celebrity, It’s all about awareness and helping others , It’s NEVER been about Nikki Lawley, it’s always been about how can I help others , how can I make the biggest impact using my voice . When someone has a brain injury we always are questioning if we are doing things right , when someone is an advocate thier mission is to support others and elevate the conversation, To make a difference in the lives of those around us, to be the light in a dark world. There will always be people who don’t understand, there will always be people jealous or mean, I will do my best to always try and help others with the single goal of making those around me feel heard and welcome. To anyone who is questioning if they are doing it right , follow your heart and trust the journey. I truly believe I am making a tiny difference in the world. Please know that I words matter , know that advocates are doing the best they can and no one should be critical of another just because they don’t understand. Invisible illness is real and mental health matters. I am doing all I can , with what I have , right now. I so appreciate every single human on this journey for their support , kindness and helping me bring awareness of brain injury , the plant and kindness and why it matters. #invisibleillness #braininjuryawareness #kindnessmatters #bethechange #collaborationovercompetition #patientadvocacy
