Does anyone (regulators and the medical community) really care about medical cannabis? How many people have States' medical cannabis cards and what percentage of them get medical guidance? How many doctors or medical clinicians are qualified to provide consumption and dosage recommendations to patients? "It was expected medical enrollment would drop once recreational cannabis became more accessible. The rate it’s falling at, though, has medical patients and activists worried. They say doctor’s visits are too expensive and there’s not enough incentive to stay in the program. But there are some perks to staying in the medical program, like extended hours, reserved parking at dispensaries, better deals, priority sales, tax exemptions, and greater purchase amounts." Perks in staying in the medical program??? How about medical guidance!!! Isn't that something that should be part of the program? A couple years ago, I got a medical marijuana card from the State of New Jersey. My doctor did not participate in the program so I signed up for a 15 minute session with a "doctor" online. I was charged $200 for the consultation. I knew more about medical cannabis than the doctor I spoke with. My consumption of cannabis aimed at helping my mental health was done so by "trial, error, and learning" - no medical advice. This is the state of affairs for most. For the most part, with few exceptions, medical cannabis is a farce. I believe the motivation for the legalization medical cannabis has been collection of tax dollars, only. Otherwise the program would be designed to actually deliver services and help people. Yes help people ... when will that be a priority over collecting tax dollars for States? https://newjerseymonitor.com/2024/05/03/patients-fear-medical-program-is-failing-without-intervention-from-state-officials-cannabis-agency/
