I joined the Cannabis Travel Association International a few years ago because of my interest in plant-medicine related travel and tourism. I have now met so many interesting tour operators, cannabis-resort owners and immersive event hosts. I'm excited to see the experience economy grow. The first trip I took was out to the Emerald Triangle with Emerald Farm Tours. Victor Pinho is the owner and worked with us prior to the trip to understand our knowledge of cannabis and what we were hoping to learn from the experience. From the moment we arrived I felt safe and cared for. We traveled to some of the touristy attractions we asked for, but also spent a great deal of time meeting local dispensaries, cultivators and educators. We stayed on their land and spent time with the plant and the growers learning about their history, their why and the power of community. I hope everyone can experience a tour like this some day.
