Direct to Store delivery systems (DSD) properly executed are a power not to be reckoned with! The ability to influence immediate decisions at store level and to also control logistics creates the perfect environment for rapid brand growth. It is definitely more expensive than warehouse delivery systems, but DSD is a great tool for execution at store level. The BCLDB taking a cut is no difference to the head offices taking a cut when working with corporate and independent systems or buying groups in CPG.
