Something important that few people know: Men and Women respond to #cannabis very differently! This infographic is based on experiments in rodents which found a few key differences in cannabis response between males and females. LIVER: Men's liver's produce LESS 11-oh-thc than women; this means women are more likely to have intense experiences with edibles. SEX HOROMONES: While testosterone does not alter the effects of THC, there was a clear connection between Estrogen, Progesterone, and THC response. This means a woman's menstrual cycle can impact how THC makes them feel! PAIN RELIEF: This was a mixed finding, where men get better anti-nociception with cannabis for certain types of pain, but for other types it was women who got the most relief. In other words, your biological sex can have MAJOR impacts on the way THC, CBD, and cannabis effect you. Have you noticed any of these effects? If you are a woman, have you noticed that edibles hit you harder? Tell me about it in the comments below! #biology #pharmacology Citation/Source: Blanton HL, Barnes RC, McHann MC, Bilbrey JA, Wilkerson JL, Guindon J.
